RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team received a vote for the first time this year in the ESPN.com/USA Softball Collegiate Top 25 poll this week.
 
The Colonels currently rank 35th in the country just behind the likes of Ole Miss, Notre Dame, Wichita State, Boston, Auburn, Fresno State, Liberty, Northwestern, and Louisville.
 
Eastern is 30-11 on the season and are currently in first place in the Ohio Valley standings at 21-5.
 
The Colonels return to the diamond today for a midweek game against Dayton on the road. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.
