Colonels Return to ASUN Play at Central Arkansas

CONWAY, Ark. - The Eastern Kentucky University softball team returns to ASUN Conference play with a series against Central Arkansas.
 
The series opens with a doubleheader on Friday, with first pitch set for 11 a.m. CT, followed by game two at 1 p.m. Saturday's series finale is scheduled for 12 p.m. All games will be streamed on ESPN+, with live stats available.
 
The Colonels (18-16, 7-2 ASUN) enter the series following a 12-4 midweek loss to Louisville. EKU is 3-0 in conference play this season after sweeping Lipscomb in a three-game series last week.
 
Last season, EKU and Central Arkansas met five times, with the Colonels holding a 4-1 advantage. In their last trip to Conway, EKU secured a 2-1 series win, closing it out with a 5-2 victory. Kennedy Drafton sealed that game with a two-RBI home run against the Bears.
 
Central Arkansas (23-15, 5-4 ASUN) comes into the series after a midweek loss to Ole Miss. The Sugar Bears are 2-1 in conference play, most recently winning a series over Austin Peay, 2-1.
 
Central Arkansas has been one of the top offensive teams in the ASUN this season, ranking second in both batting average and runs scored. Trinity Brandon leads the team at the plate, pacing the Sugar Bears in doubles, hits, and runs while batting .382.
 
The Colonels will aim to build on their early conference success as they face one of the ASUN's top offensive teams.
