51 Student-Athletes Earn Degrees At EKU Spring Commencement Ceremonies

RICHMOND, Ky. – During Eastern Kentucky University's spring commencement ceremonies on May 7-8, 51 student-athletes earned their college degrees.
 
These graduates majored in such fields as nursing, finance, biomedical sciences, elementary education, psychology, broadcasting and electronic media, risk management and insurance, business administration, exercise and sport science, health services administration, art/design studio, sociology, communication disorders and criminal justice.
 
EKU has an NCAA Graduation Success Rate (GSR) of 87 percent
 
The 2021 spring graduates included:  Camara Cannady (cheer), Hannah Coots (cheer), Mariah Polly (cheer), Ashley Rust (cheer), Jacob Abbott (baseball), Jye Deeble (baseball), Daniel Harris (baseball), Jacob Lewis (baseball), Brandon Thomas (baseball), Caleb Upshaw (baseball), Peyton Broughton (men's basketball), Cameron Carmical (men's basketball), Jacquess Hobbs (men's basketball), Dakota Allen (football), Chris Anthony (football), Graham Ashkettle (football), Jackson Bardall (football), Jackson Beerman (football), Alonzo Booth (football), Thomas Bowling (football), Keyion Dixon (football), Leonard Humphrey (football), Tucker Schroeder (football), BK Smith (football), Tre Turner (football), Howard Watkins (football), Matt Wilcox (football), Billy Basham (men's golf), Willis Gaer (men's golf), Andreas Nielsen (men's golf), Samuel Abascal (men's track & field/cross country), Cole Barkocy (men's track & field/cross country), James Sugira (men's track & field/cross country), Kynnedy Azubike (women's basketball), Bria Bass (women's basketball), Vilma Efraimsson (women's golf), Bailey Hubbard (women's golf), Ragnhildur Kristinsdottir (women's golf), Tori Peterson (softball), Claire Hicks (soccer), Alyssa Julien (soccer), Katherine Shaffer (soccer), Kylie Thompson (soccer), Taylor Tolle (soccer), Ashley Barr (women's track & field), Hannah Cook (women's track & field), Haley Holbrook (women's track & field/cross country), Alicja Minczuk (women's track & field/cross country), Olivia Schoenherr (women's track & field/cross country), Jovana Bulatovic (volleyball/beach), Lindsey Wilkins (volleyball/beach).
 
Representatives from all 16 varsity sports received degrees.
 
Thirteen additional student-athletes are scheduled to complete their degrees this summer.
 
They include:  Louis Davenport III (baseball), Russhard Cruickshank (men's basketball), Ethan Bradds (football), Dalton Gossett (football), Phillip Richards (football), Kenny Terry (football), Joan Tapias Hosta (men's track & field/cross country), Samantha Miller (softball), Mollie Paulick (softball), Bethany Todd (softball), Billie Clark (soccer), Nerea Izcue (women's track & field/cross country) and Lilian Ndorobo (women's track & field/cross country).
