Colonel Volleyball Returns Home For Two ASUN Matches

RICHMOND, Ky. –
After three straight road matches, Eastern Kentucky will host two ASUN Conference matches this weekend at McBrayer Arena.
 
The Colonels will play ASUN newcomer Queens University of Charlotte on Friday at 6 p.m.  On Saturday, Liberty will come to town for a 2 p.m. match.  Both matches will air live on ESPN+.

INSIDE THE SERIES
-  Eastern Kentucky and Queens have never met on the volleyball court. 
 
-  Liberty has a 1-0 edge over the Colonels.  The two programs met for the first time last season with the Flames winning 3-1. 
 
THE COLONELS
-  Eastern Kentucky fell to 10-8 on the season and 1-3 in conference tilts after dropping both ends of an ASUN road trip at Central Arkansas and North Alabama over the weekend.
 
-  The Colonels lead the conference with 1,083 digs and are second in the ASUN with 816 kills.
 
-  Josie Schmitendorf is first in the ASUN with 274 digs.
 
-  Chloe Mason ranks second in the league with 28 aces.
 
-  In three matches last week, Molly Michalak averaged 3.27 kills and 4.27 digs per set.  She also posted a .204 attack percentage.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Queens is 5-12 overall and 0-4 in ASUN Conference play this season.  The Royals have fallen in league matches to Liberty (3-0 and 3-0), Jacksonville State (3-0) and Kennesaw State (3-0).  
 
-  Sophomore right side Alleigh Johnson leads the team with 3.08 kills per set.  Sophomore middle blocker Kayla McDuffie has a team-best 0.85 blocks per set.  Sophomore Jesse George contributes 3.72 digs per set.  
 
-  Liberty sits at 10-6 overall and 3-1 in ASUN matches.  The Flames had a four-match winning streak snapped Saturday at home with a 3-2 loss to Jacksonville State.
 
-  Junior outside hitter Trinity Watts, the reigning ASUN Conference Defensive Player of the Week, has a team-high 3.48 kills per set.  She also averages 0.98 blocks per set.  Junior middle blocker Lydia Burts has compiled 76 blocks for 1.36 per set.  Delaney Dilfer, a junior, is the primary setter and leads the team with 10.7 assists per set.
