Maddy Campbell served up an ace to end the 3-2 win over Queens on Sunday at Baptist Health Arena.

The Colonels (15-15, 6-10 ASUN) won by scores of 20-25, 25-20, 25-20, 13-25 and 15-13.

EKU scored the first four points of the fifth set, but the Royals rebounded and tied the match at 7-7. Queens took a two-point lead, 10-8, on a kill from Kendall Buish. Victoria Wood's kill kept Queens in front by one, 12-11. Kills from Eastern Kentucky's
Sarah Mitchell and
AG Vandagriff swung the lead in favor of the home squad 13-12. An error allowed the Royals to tie it again at 13-13. Vandagriff answered with a kill to give the Colonels match-point. On the ensuing serve, Campbell's ball found Alleigh Johnson whose reception went straight into the net.

Four Colonels finished with 10 or more kills led by
Molly Michalak with 14. She also had 13 digs. Mitchell had 13 kills and 24 digs. Vandagriff finished with 12 kills.Â
Carson Ledford added 11 kills and four blocks. Campbell finished with nine kills.Â
Chloe Mason led all players with 55 assists to go along with 22 digs and one ace.

Queens (7-22, 2-14 ASUN) broke an 11-11 tie in the first with a 9-3 run to take control of the set. Kayla McDuffie's kill capped the run and made it 20-14 in favor of the Royals. Two straight errors by EKU ended the set and gave Queens a 1-0 lead.

After the Royals drew within one, 9-8, in the second set, Eastern Kentucky scored six of the next eight. A kill from Vandagriff made it a five-point margin, 15-10. Three unanswered later in the set allowed the Colonels to take an eight-point lead, 22-14. Campbell's kill ended the set and tied the match.

EKU jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the third set. The Colonels went on top by 10, 20-10, on a kill from Ledford. A Queens service error ended the set 25-20 and put the home team up 2-1 in the match.

Queens never trailed and cruised to a 12-point win in the fourth set to force a decisive fifth.

Johnson led the Royals with 14 kills.
