RICHMOND, Ky. – EKU's 2023 ASUN-WAC schedule was announced by the league offices on Tuesday, featuring six conference games. The Colonels are looking to claim the league's automatic bid to the NCAA FCS Playoffs for the second consecutive season.
EKU is coming off a season that saw the Colonels win a share of the ASUN regular-season championship and advance to the FCS Playoffs for the first time since 2014.
The Colonels' first conference game comes at North Alabama on Sept. 30. EKU defeated the Lions 56-53 on Homecoming in Richmond last season.
EKU's first home game in ASUN-WAC play comes two weeks later when the Colonels host Tarleton at CG Bank Field at Roy Kidd Stadium. on Oct. 14. The Colonels and Texans are meeting for the second time ever and first time since 2021, when EKU recorded a 20-3 Homecoming victory.
The Colonels will close the season with four consecutive ASUN-WAC contests, beginning with a road trip to Utah Tech on Oct. 28. EKU will be making the program's first-ever trip to The Beehive State and facing a team from Utah for just the second time ever.
EKU returns home on Nov. 4 to face longtime foe Austin Peay. The Colonels and Governors have split the last six meetings in the series and will be facing each other on the gridiron for the 54th time.
The final road game of the regular season comes on Nov. 11 as EKU makes the trip to Central Arkansas. The Colonels will be looking for their third consecutive victory over the Bears after knocking off UCA 42-14 in 2022.
EKU closes out the regular-season slate at home against Stephen F. Austin on Nov. 18. The Colonels will be hosting the 2022 WAC champions for the second time in four seasons.
Game times are TBD.
