SPARTANBURG, S.C.– Eastern Kentucky University's beach volleyball team swept a pair of matches on Friday to push its winning streak to three.

The Colonels swept both matches against Truett McConnell and Spartanburg Methodist, 5-0.

In match one, the Colonels didn't lose a set to the Bears.

Paityn Walker and
Sarah Mitchell cruised in both sets in the number two pairing against Truett McConnell winning the first set, 21-6, before winning the second set, 21-5. That pairing now has a team-high seven wins on the season.

The number one pairing, of
Shannon Stone and
Hannah Keating held off the Bears duo in the first, 21-15, before rolling in the second set over Truett McConnel, 21-6, to earn the points for the Colonels.

Eastern Kentucky has won three straight matches, 5-0.

Individual scores were not available for the second match against Spartanburg Methodist.

The Colonels now have the most wins in a single season in the program's history.

EKU is back on the sand next weekend when the Colonels host the EKU Beach Tournament. The event is Friday and Saturday. The first match for EKU is Friday at 1 p.m. against Austin Peay.
