RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University soccer team announced the signing of Celia Lopez, head coach

Lopez is a transfer from the University of Pittsburgh where she appeared in 39 matches in her Pitt career. Â Â

The midfielder from Spain comes to Eastern Kentucky after playing nearly 900 career minutes in the Atlantic Coast Conference. Lopez played a season-best 526 minutes in her freshman campaign making an immediate impact for Pittsburgh. She appeared in 16 games with three starts in the midfield.

In the 2020 season, Lopez had the game winning goal over Kentucky in the 41st minute.

Lopez was a member of Ardoi's Senior Team in the 2nd Division, tallying six goals and two assists in 2017-18 and eight goals and six assists the season prior. She made her debut with the 2nd Division team at just 15 years old.

She was selected to the Navarra Football Federation U18 Women's National Team, a pipeline to the Spanish Women's National Team.
