RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team hit four home runs but fell in the series finale to Central Arkansas, 10-6, on Saturday in Richmond.

Central Arkansas scored at least one run in the first four innings to take control early.

The Bears scored one in the first on an RBI fielder's choice to take the early lead over the Colonels. UCA tacked on three more in the top of the second to take the 4-0 advantage over the Colonels.

EKU got one back in the bottom half of the second inning on a solo home run by
Samantha Reynoso, her second home run of the season.

Central Arkansas got the run back in the top of the third on a bases loaded RBI single up the middle by Tremere Harris to give UCA a 5-1 advantage over the Colonels.

The Colonels chipped into the lead again in the bottom half of the third after a solo home run by
Mattira Morales, her first of the season and the team's second of the game. EKU continued to fight. Trailing 7-2 heading into the bottom of the fourth,
Jeanay Riley hit an opposite field home run to cut into the Bears lead, 7-3.
Maggie Pertee followed with a single to left field and came around to score from first base on a UCA error to make the score, 7-4, after five full innings of play.

UCA pushed three more across in the top of the sixth to extends the lead to six, 10-4.

The Colonels got two in the bottom of the seventh, including the team's fourth home run of the game this time by
Jasmine Miller to cut the UCA lead to, 10-6.

Reynoso, Morales, Riley, and Miller all hit solo home runs on the game.
Vianna Barron went 2-for-3 with one double on the game.

EKU is at home on Wednesday night when the Colonels host nationally ranked Kentucky. First-pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. against the Wildcats.
