HUNTSVILLE, Ala.– Eastern Kentucky University's beach volleyball team fell in a pair of matches on the opening day of the ASUN Beach Tournament.

The Colonels lost to College of Charleston in the opening match, 5-0, before falling to the number one seed Stetson, 5-0.

In match one, the number two pairing of
Shannon Stone and
Maddy Campbell lost the first set to College of Charleston, 15-13. The duo came up short in the second set losing, 21-13.

In match two, the duo of
Paityn Walker and
Sarah Mitchell took on the First-Team All-ASUN pairing from Stetson and lost the opening set, 21-14. Walker and Mitchell battled with the duo in the second set but came up short falling, 21-16.

The Colonels gear up for day two of the ASUN Beach Championship on Saturday. EKU takes on the No. 8 seed Mercer at 9:30 a.m. The Colonels wrap up Saturday against UNC Wilmington with first serve at 5 p.m.
