RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University softball team fell in the regular season finale to North Alabama, 11-4, on Friday afternoon in Richmond.

The Colonels again got off to a quick start against the Lions in the series.
Sammi Miller worked a walk to lead off the bottom half of the first inning.
Jeanay Riley followed with a single to right field to put runners on first and second with no one out. A sacrifice bunt moved both runners into scoring position with one out,
Jasmine Miller delivered with a single to left field to score two and give EKU the early 2-0 advantage.

EKU added to its lead in the bottom half of the second inning.
Ariyana Miranda led off the inning with a single up the middle. With one out,
Samantha Reynoso took the 1-2 pitch over the left field fence for a two-run home run, her fourth of the season to give the Colonels a 4-0 lead.

North Alabama scored at least one run in each of the next five innings to pull away from the Colonels.

Maggie Pertee and Miranda each had two hits on the contest. Miller went 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two walks. Reynoso went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBIs.

The Colonels' season comes to an end with the loss to North Alabama.
