RICHMOND, Ky. – EKU linebacker
Chase Lasater was named the ASUN Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
Lasater led the Colonel defense with a season-high 12 tackles, including six solo stops, in EKU's 59-57 seven-overtime victory at Bowling Green. The Orange Park, Fla., native added one tackle for loss in the win. Lasater and the Colonel defense kept the Falcons out of the end zone on two of BGSU's final three possessions in overtime.
The award is the first conference accolade for Lasater, who was playing in just his second game at EKU after transferring from Florida Atlantic.
The Colonels host Charleston Southern in their home opener at Saturday night at CG Bank Field at
Roy Kidd Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
