RICHMOND, Ky. – ASUN Conference play begins Friday at home for EKU. The Colonels will host Lipscomb on Friday and Austin Peay on Saturday.
Friday's match is set for 6 p.m. Saturday's tilt with the Governors is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. Both matches will air live on ESPN+.
The Colonels will wear gold shoelaces during Friday's match as part of Lace Up 4 Pediatric Cancer®, which started in 2011 to show a commitment to the fight against pediatric cancer. Saturday will be Special Olympics Day at the match and include an EKU volleyball t-shirt giveaway.
INSIDE THE SERIES
- Eastern Kentucky is 9-1 all-time against Lipscomb. The teams first met in 2000, and split a pair of meetings last season. The Colonels won 3-2 in Richmond while the Bisons won 3-1 in Nashville.
- EKU is 42-27 all-time against Austin Peay. The teams last met in 2019 with the Governors winning 3-0 in Clarksville.

- The Colonels picked up a win over Florida A&M in the Jaguar Invitational over the weekend and are now 8-5 on the season.

Josie Schmitendorf recorded her 500th career dig in Saturday's match against South Alabama. She is averaging 4.08 digs per set this season, seventh-best in the conference.

Carson Ledford is now 11th in the ASUN with 0.90 blocks per set. She averaged 1.2 blocks per set in three matches over the weekend.
- As a team, EKU leads the league in digs, is fifth in kills, fifth in assists and sixth in blocks.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- Lipscomb is 3-8 this season. During its current four-match losing skid, the Bisons have lost to two top-25 ranked teams and another who was receiving votes in the top-25.
- Freshman outside hitter Jada DiVita leads the team with 2.83 kills per set and has a .249 attack percentage. Meg Mersman, a junior middle blocker, has a team-best 0.94 blocks per set.
- Austin Peay sits at 7-4 after winning three matches at home in the Stasheville Challenge over the weekend. The Governors beat North Dakota State 3-1 before shutting out East Tennessee and Tennessee-Martin. APSU will play at Bellarmine on Friday evening.
- Mikayla Powell, a senior right-side, is averaging a team-high 3.45 kills per set and hitting .349 on the season. She was chosen as the ASUN Player of the Week on Monday. Senior defensive specialist Erin Eisenhart is contributing 4.02 digs per set.
