RICHMOND, Ky. – The EKU football program welcomed 10 newcomers to the roster for the spring semester, head coach Walt Wells announced on Wednesday.
 
Seven of the additions come on the defensive side of the ball with three linebackers, three defensive backs, and one defensive lineman. On offense, EKU added an offensive lineman, a wide receiver, and a tight end. Eight of the 10 were on teams that made postseason appearances in 2022. 
 
"We're very excited about bringing in such an impressive group of young men," said Wells. "These guys will make an immediate impact on our program and we're looking forward to seeing them compete this spring."

Tony Davis | DB | 6-2 | 195 | Gastonia, N.C./Duke

• Played in 16 games over the last four seasons for the Blue Devils
• Tallied career-high four tackles against Miami last season
• Notched a fumble recovery against Wake Forest in 2021
• Recorded stops in eight different games for Duke
• Four-star prospect from Hunter Huss H.S.
• Four-time All-Big South 3A selection

 

Marvion Field | DL | 6-3 | 290 | Hampton, Ga./Elon

• Appeared in 32 games over the last four seasons for the Phoenix
• Played in 29 consecutive contests
• Started 10 games in 2022
• Made four tackles and 2.0 tackles for loss in the FCS Playoffs against Furman
• Tallied 14 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss during the 2022 season 

Jackson Hensley | WR | 6-0 | 197 | Pikeville, Ky./Wake Forest

• Appeared in 16 games over the last three seasons for the Demon Deacons
• Caught a 15-yard pass against Louisville
• Helped Pikeville H.S. go 14-0 and win the Class 1A state title as a senior
• Tallied 140 catches for 2,484 yards and 34 touchdowns in his career

Kyle Kelly | ILB | 6-1 | 220 | Newport, Ky./Ohio

• Played in 26 games from 2019-22 for the Bobcats
• Recorded 29 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and 0.5 sacks in 2022
• Career-high five tackles against Miami in 2021
• Three-time Academic All-Mid-American Conference selection

• Played in all 14 games in 2022
