LOUISVILLE, Ky. – EKU completed the season sweep of Bellarmine on Wednesday in Louisville by sweeping the Knights, 3-0, for the second time this season.

Sarah Mitchell led the Colonels (20-7, 10-5 ASUN) with 10 kills in 17 attempts. She made only one error and finished with a .529 attack percentage to go along with four digs and three blocks.Â
Josie Schmitendorf had 10 digs.Â
AG Vandagriff and
Carson Ledford had seven kills each with no errors. Ledford added five blocks.

EKU hit .434 as a team, finishing with 42 kills and only six errors. The Colonels out-blocked the Knights 9-1.

With the first set tied 3-3, the Colonels spun together a 7-1 run to take control. A kill from
Paige Wagers made it 10-4. A kill from
Madi Tolzman and a bad set from Bellarmine allowed EKU to double up the home squad 16-8. A kill from
Chloe Mason gave the Colonels set-point at 24-15. Moments later Tolzman finished the first, 25-17, with a kill.

The second set was close throughout. EKU broke a 16-16 tie on Ledford's kill and led the rest of the set. A BU error put the visitors ahead 21-17. Wagers ended the second set with a kill, 25-21, and gave her team a 2-0 lead.

The Colonels never trailed in the third set. A kill from Ledford made it 3-2 and EKU led the rest of the way. A 9-1 run turned a 7-6 advantage into a 16-7 edge. Playing in her home town,
Katie McKune finished off the run with a kill. A kill from Tolzman had the Colonels ahead 20-11. Blocks by Mitchell and Ledford ended the set 25-16.

McKune had four kills and a block in her return to Louisville. Wagers contributed six kills and four blocks.

Bailey Venard had a match-best 12 kills for Bellarmine (9-18, 7-8 ASUN). She had only three errors in 26 attempts and a .346 attack percentage.

The Colonels will conclude the regular season on Saturday in Charlotte at Queens. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start and will air live on ESPN+.Â
