CHICAGO – The EKU men's tennis team (2-7) dropped two matches against Army (8-6) and Cleveland State (10-4) on Friday at XS Tennis Village. The Colonels lost both matches by the score of 4-2.
 
The Colonels and the Black Knights battled it out in doubles, but Army took two doubles courts to enter singles play with a one-point advantage.
 
After Moritz Mayer and Zach White lost their singles matches, Arthur Bugeaud won his third consecutive singles match in straight sets from the No. 5 spot, 6-2, 6-2.
 
J.Anurag Reddy won his singles match from the No. 4 position in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2. However, Kristoffer Stahlbrand lost in singles play to clinch the match for Army.
 
A few hours later, the Colonels faced off against Cleveland State.
 
To begin the dual match, Stahlbrand and Bugeaud won their doubles match from the No. 1 court, 6-4. After the Colonels lost from the No. 3 spot, Mayer and Paul-Antoine Brazet beat the Vikings' No. 2 doubles team in a close one, 7-6 (7-2), to claim the doubles point.
 
White won his singles match from the No. 6 position, 6-1, 6-4. However, EKU lost four singles matches to clinch the match for the Vikings.
