CINCINNATI, Ohio – The EKU beach volleyball team opened its season Saturday by earning a pair of victories against Austin Peay and Liberty

The Colonels (2-0) held off Austin Peay in the first match of the day, earning a 3-2 win and clinching the victory when Rachel Mueller and Bella Williams teamed up on Court 3 for a 21-10, 21-14 win. 

In the second match of the day, EKU dropped just two sets as a team as the Colonels shut out Liberty. EKU's No. 2 pair of Hannah Keating and Paityn Walker won all four of their sets as a duo on the day and combined to surrender just 20 total points in a 21-9, 21-11 win against the Flames. 

Arilyn Lee and EK Lonergan battled throughout the day to win all four of their sets, earning three set victories by two points.

The Colonels tangle with Austin Peay again on Sunday at 11:30 a.m. before facing Morehead State at 1:30 p.m.
