FORT MYERS, Fla. – Riding a four-game winning streak, the Eastern Kentucky softball team (20-17, 4-8 ASUN) departs for Florida to begin a three-game series with ASUN Conference foe Florida Gulf Coast (24-19, 6-6 ASUN) from April 14-16 at the FGCU Softball Complex.
This weekend's softball action will be a traditional Friday, Saturday, Sunday series with 5 p.m., 2 p.m., 12 p.m. ET start times, respectively.

The Colonels enter the weekend having won their last four games over in-state Northern Kentucky and a series sweep over Jacksonville.
Vianna Barron led the charge in EKU's sweep over JU, the Elk Grove, Calif. native went 5-for-10 in the three-game stretch with four runs batted in and six runs scored.
Outfielders
Jaelin Haynes and
Jeanay Riley followed Barron's performance with four hits apiece.
Sophomore pitcher
Lauren Narvaez earned two wins and a save over the weekend to improve to 11-11 on the season from the circle, throwing 13.1 innings with six strikeouts.
EKU leads the ASUN in double plays per game (0.43), doubles (52), and doubles per game (1.41). Top-3 in the conference in home runs, home runs per game, on base percentage, scoring, triples per game, and slugging percentage.
Scouting Florida Gulf Coast
The Eagles are led by head coach David Deiros, who's in his 21st season with the program and has a 730-416-3 record. He's led the program to seven 30-win seasons in 14 years at the Division I level.
One of the stingiest teams in the ASUN and NCAA on the base paths, FGCU leads the conference in stolen bases (100) and successfully has stolen 87 percent (100-115) of its attempts, the value is good for eighth in the country.
Three Eagles have stolen 17-or-more bases on the year.
FGCU is led by graduate student Tayli Filla, who has a .318 batting average and a team-leading 41 hits. The Fort Myers product also leads the team in home runs (4) and runs batted in (26).
Ally Hulme sports a 9-7 record from the circle in 25 appearances and a 3.16 earned run average. Angelina Bonilla has a 7-5 record in 24 appearances, leading the team in strikeouts (73) and ERA (2.16).
