RICHMOND, Ky. – The EKU beach volleyball team closed out its home slate with a pair of 5-0 sweeps over in-state rival Morehead State on Senior Day at EKU Beach. 

The Colonels won all 10 sets in the first match, as Chloe Mason and Bailey Rima set the tone early with a 21-12, 21-11 win on court five. A 21-9, 21-16 win by seniors Hannah Keating and Shannon Stone at the No. 1 flight clinched the victory for the Colonels. The win was EKU's first in 10 tries as a program against the Eagles. 

EKU won the first set on all five courts in the second match, then withstood Morehead State rallying to force a third set in three different flights. Mason and Rima's 21-9, 14-21, 15-7 win at the No. 5 spot put the Colonels up 2-0 before Keating and Stone earned the deciding point again. Rachel Mueller and Bella Williams followed with a 21-15, 19-21, 15-9 win on court four to keep the shutout intact. Senior Maddy Campbell teamed with Paityn Walker for the final point of the day, winning 21-14, 13-21, 15-13 at No. 2. 

Keating and Stone extended their winning streak as a duo to 10 consecutive matches. Mueller and Williams earned their team-leading 12th victory this season. 

The Colonels conclude the regular season next weekend at the Bears Beach Bash in Macon, Ga.
