ATHENS, Ga. – Moritz Mayer beat #18 Georgia's Miguel Perez Pena from the No. 1 spot in the second match of the doubleheader, who is ranked No. 43 in the latest ITA Singles Rankings. Mayer won his match in a three-set thriller, 2-6, 6-3, 10-7. However, the Colonels lost both matches by the scores of 7-0 and 5-1.
 
To begin the first dual match, EKU lost from the No. 1 and 3 courts in doubles to give the Bulldogs a one-point advantage. Evzen Holis and Fernando Bulnes were winning 5-4 against Georgia's No. 2 pair, but the match did not finish.
 
Paul-Antoine Brazet's singles match lasted three sets from the No. 5 position, but he would lose the match, 3-6, 6-3, 3-10.
 
The Bulldogs won their other five singles matches to clinch.
 
The Colonels and Bulldogs did not play doubles in the second match, so they started with singles play. Esteban Castro Platonoff and Ryan Kitchin made their first appearances of the season. Mayer won from the top court, but Georgia won five singles matches to earn the dub.
