ARLINGTON, Texas – Eastern Kentucky University running back
Joshua Carter has been named the United Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the league office on Monday.
Carter's selection marks the third straight week a Colonel has earned a player of the week superlative at the conference level.
The Navarre, Fla. native earns the honor after having a career-day last Saturday in EKU's 28-17 Homecoming win over Utah Tech rushing for 167 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
On the day, he carried the ball 31 times averaging 5.4 yards per carry.
His first touchdown came late in the second quarter to get EKU on the board punching the ball in from one yard out, and his second came in the fourth quarter on a six-yard run.
The performance marked the first time an EKU running back has rushed for 150 or more yards in a game since Braeden Sloan against Stephen F. Austin in 2023.
