Volleyball Set For First Conference Road Trip

FLORENCE, Ala. – The volleyball team will make its first Atlantic Sun Conference road trip of the season this weekend with matches at North Alabama and Central Arkansas.
 
The Colonels will play at North Alabama on Friday at 7 p.m. ET.  The match against Central Arkansas is set for Sunday at 2 p.m. ET.  Both matches will air live on ESPN+.
 
THE COLONELS
-  EKU opened league play last weekend by splitting a pair of matches at home.  The Colonels beat Austin Peay, 3-0, before falling to preseason conference favorite Lipscomb in five sets.
 
-  Since the start of the 2023 season, EKU has a 31-14 record.
 
-  After recording her first career triple-double against Oakland on Sept. 20, setter Emilee Hill posted another triple-double against Lipscomb on Sept. 27.  She finished with 11 kills, 12 digs and 28 assists.
 
-  Josie Schmitendorf is now seventh in program history with 1,509 digs.  Lesley Aldridge (2001-04) is sixth with 1,551 career digs.
 
-  Carson Ledford leads the ASUN with a .353 attack percentage.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
-  North Alabama is 7-8 overall and 1-1 in ASUN matches.  The Lions have a 3-0 win at Alabama this season.  UNA fell to Central Arkansas (3-0) and beat Jacksonville (3-0) in its two league matches.  
 
-  Reese Ricketts leads the team, and is tied for fourth in the ASUN, with 3.51 kills per set.  Audrey Small contributes 4.40 digs per set, fifth-best in the conference. 
 
-  Central Arkansas sits at 5-8 overall and 2-0 against conference teams.  The Sugar Bears have won four straight, including ASUN matches against North Alabama (3-0) and North Florida (3-1).
 
-  Laci Bohannan averages a team-best 3.53 kills per set, which ranks third in the ASUN.  Greyson Button leads the team with 0.80 blocks per set.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  The Colonels are 3-2 all-time against North Alabama.  The two teams split a pair of matches in 2023 with each squad winning by a 3-1 score on its home court. 
 
-  EKU holds a 4-1 advantage in the series against Central Arkansas.  The Colonels swept the season series last year, winning 3-0 at home and 3-1 on the road.
