TROY, Ala. – Eastern Kentucky University will play its fourth game in seven days when the Colonels take on Troy on Sunday in Troy, Alabama.

THE COLONELS
-  EKU is 4-3 overall this season.  The Colonels took a 10-point lead over No. 5 Mid-Major Louisiana Tech on Wednesday at the Gulf Coast Showcase before falling 78-69.
 
-  In three games at the Gulf Coast Showcase earlier this week, EKU turned the ball over an average of 8.7 times.  The Colonels forced 14.7 turnovers per game while averaging 9.3 steals per contest.
 
-  Senior Devontae Blanton leads the team in scoring (17.4 ppg) and rebounding (6.1 rpg) while also dishing out 3.7 assists per game.  He has shot 53 percent from the field over the past six games.
 
-  Sophomore George Kimble III has averaged 4.0 steals the last three games.  He hit five 3-pointers and led EKU with 21 points against Louisiana Tech.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Troy dropped to 4-3 on the season after a 72-68 loss at home to Merrimack on Friday.  The Trojans have wins over Toledo, New Orleans, Atlantic Sun Conference member West Georgia and Texas-San Antonio.  
 
- The Trojans allowed Merrimack to shoot 55 percent from the field and 56 percent (14-for-25) from 3-point range.  Troy was 5-for-19 (26 percent) from deep, getting out scored by 27 from behind the arc.
 
-  Myles Rigsby, a 6-foot-6 sophomore forward, leads the team in scoring at 13.1 points per game.  He is 30-for-53 (57 percent) from inside the arc, but 2-for-16 (13 percent) from behind it.  The 2023-24 Sun Belt Conference Freshman of the Year led Troy with 15 points on Friday.
 
-  Thomas Dowd, a 6-foot-8 sophomore forward, is Troy's top rebounder at 5.1 boards per game.  He also contributes 7.7 points per contest.
 
INSIDE THE MATCH-UP
-  Troy has turned the ball over an average of 16.4 times per game.  EKU's opponents average 16.1 turnovers per game.
 
-  The Colonels average 9.1 three-pointers per game while the Trojans are making 6.6 per game.  Troy has hit 29.9 percent from behind the arc.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  The series between the teams is tied 1-1.  The programs met last season in a home-and-home series.  The Colonels won 77-76 in Richmond on Nov. 27, 2023 and the Trojans earned an 88-81 win on Dec. 21, 2023 in Troy.
 
-  EKU nearly erased a double digit second half deficit, but couldn't' complete the comeback in the last meeting.  The Colonels out-rebounded the Trojans by 10, 40-30, but were slowed by 16 turnovers.  Troy committed only five and out-scored EKU 16-8 off turnovers.  The Trojans also went to the free throw line 42 times, converting 28.  EKU was 25-for-29 at the stripe for 86 percent.  Leland Walker scored a team-best 20 points for EKU.  Christyon Eugene posted a game-best 24 points for Troy.
