RICHMOND, Ky. – Esteban Castro Platonoff earned his first career collegiate singles win from the No. 6 court in straight sets, 7-6 (10-8), 7-5, in a 7-0 sweep against Campbellsville (1-2, 0-0 MSC) on Saturday at the Greg Adams Tennis Center. The Eastern Kentucky University men's tennis team (11-3, 0-0 ASUN) extended its winning streak to nine matches in a 4-3 win against Northern Kentucky (2-5, 1-0 Horizon) at Five Seasons Sports Club. The Colonels are on their longest winning streak since 2011.
To begin the dual match against Campbellsville, EKU won their doubles matches from the bottom two courts to gain a one-point advantage.
J.Anurag Reddy dominated to win his singles match from the No. 4 court in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2.
Moritz Mayer earned another point for the Colonels in singles from the No. 1 spot, 7-5, 6-0.
Paul-Antoine Brazet clinched the match for the Maroon and White, winning his singles match in straight sets from the No. 2 position, 6-3, 6-2.
On court three,
Kristoffer Stahlbrand earned a straight-set victory in singles play, 6-3, 7-5.
Ryan Kitchin won his third singles match of the season from the No. 5 spot in straight sets, 6-3, 7-6 (9-7).
To start the dual match against Northern Kentucky, Mayer and Reddy won their second doubles match of the day from the No. 2 position, 7-5. Brazet and Stahlbrand won by default on court three, as the Colonels earned the doubles point for the fourth straight match.
Reddy won his singles match by default from the No. 6 position. Brazet won his singles match in straight sets from the No. 4 spot, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3.
Evzen Holis clinched the match for the Colonels, winning his singles match in three sets from the top court, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
