AUBURN, Ala. – Eastern Kentucky University suffered an 9-1 loss at No. 15 Auburn on Sunday at Plainsman Park.

The Tigers (3-0) jumped out to a 3-0 lead on a 2-run home run by Christian Hall in the bottom of the second. Deric Fabian capped a 2-run third inning with an RBI single to right center for a 5-0 lead.

Auburn added three in the fifth to pull away. The Colonels (0-3) got on the board in the seventh.Â
Conner Davis started the inning with a triple and then came home on a ground ball off the bat of newcomer
Boone Shevey.

Carson Myers allowed just two hits, one walk and struck out eight in six innings of work for the Tigers.

Garrett Langrell pitched a scoreless inning of relief for EKU in the sixth. It was his first appearance in a game since March 19, 2022 after missing a season and a half with an injury.

Davis finished 2-for-3 with a run scored. Shevey was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Fabian had a 3-for-4 day with three RBIs for Auburn.
