LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University hit a pair of home runs, but it wasn't enough in a 12-3 loss at Louisville on Tuesday.
 
The Cardinals (4-4) scored five runs combined in the first two innings to grab an early lead.  EKU got on the board in the top of the fourth when freshman Tait Nunnally hit a 2-run home run over the wall in right center.  It was his second of the season.
 
A solo home run from Conner Davis in the top of the sixth got the Colonels within four, 7-3.
 
JT Benson's 3-run home run in the seventh sealed the game for Louisville.
 
Nunnally and Davis each finished with two hits, a home run and a double.  Benson was 3-for-3 with three runs and four RBIs.
 
EKU (1-7) will host a 3-game series this weekend against Western Illinois.  Friday's series opener is slated for 4 p.m.
