CHARLESTON, S.C. – Senior Sarah Mitchell of Eastern Kentucky University beach volleyball program headlined the day for the Colonels, earning her 49^th and 50^th individual career win today at the C of C Beach Classic.
 
On the day, the Colonels fell to Charleston (3-2) and Coastal Carolina (4-1) , but Mitchell was able to secure wins at the No. 1 spot alongside partner Paityn Walker.
 
Mitchell and Walker the No. 13 ranked duo in the country knocked off the No. 10 ranked pair from Coastal Carolina, 21-15, 13-21, 15-10.
 
With the wins the duo improves to 17-6 against NCAA opponents for the season and now move up two spots in the national rankings.
 
Walker now sits only three wins from the 50-win milestone at 47.
 
The duo will now face the No. 16 pair in NCAA beach volleyball from UNCW as the Colonels face the Seahawks tomorrow at 9 a.m.
