EKU Men's Basketball To Face Morehead State In Exhibition Game

RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University's men's basketball team will play long-time in-state rival Morehead State University in an exhibition game on Oct. 27.

The game will be played at Johnson Arena in Morehead and will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The two teams have played 196 times during the regular season, dating back to the 1930-31 season.  However, the Colonels and Eagles have not met since EKU moved to the Atlantic Sun Conference following the 2020-21 season.

The most recent match-up was in the semifinals of the 2021 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament in Evansville, Indiana.  MSU won that contest 67-64.  The two programs last played in Morehead on Dec. 14, 2020.

EKU holds a 112-84 advantage in the all-time series.

After renovation of the seating bowl, the Colonels will play their first game of the season in Baptist Health Arena against in-state rival Western Kentucky on Nov. 10.  EKU will begin the 2025-26 regular season against Midway University on Nov. 6.  That game will be played at the Seabury Center on the campus of Berea College at 8 p.m.

Fans wishing to purchase season tickets should contact the EKU Ticket Office at 859-622-2122 or via email at tickets@eku.edu.
