- Over the last two games, Juan Cranford Jr. is averaging 16 points per game on 43% shooting from the field. He's hit 8-of-17 (47%) from behind the arc over that span.
- EKU had 16 assists on 30 made field goals against Mercer. It was the most assists this season against a Division I opponent.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
- NKU is 3-2 this season with two non-Division I wins and a 90-66 victory at Central Michigan on Thursday. The losses by the Norse were at Tennessee and East Tennessee.
- Northern Kentucky is averaging 87.2 points per game while shooting 50% from the field. The Norse are forcing 17.8 turnovers per game off 12.6 steals per contest.
- Dan Gherezgher and Donovan Oday lead the team with an average of 16.4 points per game. Oday is shooting 60% from the field on the season. Gherezgher is a 6-foot-4 senior guard in his second season at NKU. Oday is a 6-foot-2 senior guard who played at Cal State Fullerton last year and started his collegiate career at McNeese State.
- LJ Wells, a 6-foot-8 senior forward, is the team's top rebounder at 7.8 boards per game. He also averages 3.0 steals and 9.2 points per game.
INSIDE THE SERIES
- EKU leads the all-time series 7-6. The Norse are 4-0 against the Colonels in Highland Heights. The first meeting between the two programs was in 1977. EKU and NKU did not play between 1992 and 2017. Since renewing the series in 2017 the teams have met six times.
- After falling behind by 14 points with less than 15 minutes left in the game, EKU staged a furious comeback attempt but couldn't overcome Northern Kentucky in an 85-75 loss on Dec. 17, 2023 in Richmond. Isaiah Cozart led EKU with 24 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks. NKU shot 52% for the game from the field and 50% from 3-point range (8-for-16). The Colonels made 39% of their shots, and just 6-of-24 from long range (25%). Sam Vinson had 17 points for the Norse.
