RICHMOND, Ky. – EKU defensive back
Jaheim Ward added another accolade to his resume, being named to the FCS Central All-American Team as announced by the national publication on Monday afternoon.
A Preseason All-American and First Team All-UAC selection in 2025, Ward's third team selection marks the second consecutive season a Colonel defensive back has been named an All-American, joining
Mike Smith Jr. from 2024, all under defensive secondary coach
Rashad Watson.
A defensive captain in 2025, Ward produced 82 total tackles, including 50 solo efforts, the seventh most in the UAC in 2025, while adding six pass breakups, one forced fumble, and a 37-yard pick-six in the final play of his stellar collegiate career against Utah Tech.
As a unit, the EKU secondary recorded 10 interceptions with a team passing defensive efficiency of 123.33, the 23rd best in all of FCS in 2025.
Watson's secondary also scored four total touchdowns, including Ward's season-ending pick-six, with three pick-sixes and one fumble scoop-and-score.
