EKU Wraps Up Non-Conference Schedule At Wichita State

WICHITA, Kan. – Eastern Kentucky University will wrap up the non-conference portion of its 2025-26 schedule at Wichita State on Sunday.
 
The contest will begin at 5 p.m. ET and air live on ESPN+.  The live audio broadcast of the game is available worldwide on EKUSports.com and the EKUSports app.
 
THE COLONELS
-  EKU (4-8) beat Jacksonville State, 62-59, on Wednesday and has now won three of its last four games.
 
-  EKU has out-rebounded its opponent in six of its last seven games. Over the last four games the Colonels have out-rebounded their opponents by an average of 10.3 per game.
 
-  Entering its game against EKU, Jacksonville State was third in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage defense (25%).  The Colonels hit 11-of-31 against the Gamecocks for 36%.
 
-  Over the last four games, Montavious Myrick is averaging 11.3 rebounds, 8.3 points, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals.
 
SCOUTING THE OPPONENT
-  Wichita State improved to 7-5 this season with an 84-73 victory over Wofford on Wednesday.  The Shockers have also won three of their last four games.  
 
- WSU is averaging 77 points and allowing only 67 this season.  The Shockers have it on 45% of their attempts from the field and 36% from 3-point range.
 
-  For the season, Wichita State has out-rebounded its opponents by an average of 7.7 per game and has committed just 10 turnovers per contest.  The Shockers rank 32nd in the nation in turnovers per game.
 
-  Kenyon Giles leads the team with an average of 17.8 points per game, no other Shocker is averaging in double figures.  Giles, a 5-foot-10 guard, is shooting 43% from the field, 40% (36-of-91) from 3-point range and 83% at the free throw line.  He played one season at Radford and one at UNC Greensboro before coming to Wichita State.
 
INSIDE THE SERIES
-  This is the first-ever meeting between EKU and Wichita State.
 
-  Both teams have played Western Kentucky and Wofford this season.  The Colonels lost to WKU 87-79.  The Shockers lost to the Hilltoppers 75-70.  WSU beat Wofford 84-73 while EKU fell to the Terriers 83-77.
