NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky University trailed just 1-0 after the first three innings against No. 12 Vanderbilt, but the Commodores pulled away in the middle innings for a 10-0 victory on Tuesday in Nashville, Tennessee.

Brodie Johnston's solo home run in the bottom of the first inning was the only run the Commodores scored in the first three innings. Vanderbilt (20-5) put five runs on the board in the fourth to pull away.

Elijah Underhill started and pitched the first two innings. The only hit he allowed was the solo home run, he did not walk a batter and struck out three of the seven batters he faced.

Addison Stockham and
Christian Howe pitched one scoreless inning each for the Colonels (4-21).Â
AJ Groeneveld and
Julius Scearce each had one hit.

Johnston had just the one hit in five at bats. Rustan Rigdon went 4-for-5 with a run and two RBIs for the Commodores.
