RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's tennis team wrapped up its 2024-25 season with a narrow 4-3 loss to Lipscomb on Sunday night inside the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
 
EKU finishes the 2024-25 season with 9-17 overall record and 2-6 mark in Atlantic Sun Conference play.
 
Despite dropping the doubles point off a tiebreak on court two, the Colonels won three singles matches and went to a third set on court six to decide the match.
 
Nuno Pinheiro gained his third ASUN victory on the top court taking down Oskar Szymczak in straight 6-3 sets.  Adrian Contreras followed with a three-set thriller defeating Juan Lombisano 6-1, 3-6, 7-5 on court three.  Finally, Ryan Kitchin secured a 6-2, 6-4 win on court six over Oliver Thoeny.
 
The match point came down to court five in singles, Pepe Miralles forced a third set against Filippo Verdese but came up short falling 6-1, 4-6, 0-6.
 
The ASUN Conference takes the top six teams in the final standings for its conference tournament field.  As of Sunday night, the Colonels remain in seventh place with no more matches left in the regular season.
