RICHMOND, Ky. – In its final home game of the 2025 season, Eastern Kentucky University lost to Miami University, 11-1, on Tuesday at Earle Combs Stadium.
The Redhawks grabbed the early lead with a pair of 2-run singles in the top of the first inning. Dominic Krupinski drove in the first two with a single to center. Ty Batusich made it 4-0 with a base hit to left field.
Solo home runs from Dillon Baker and David Novak in the second and third innings allowed Miami to extend its lead to 6-0.
The Colonels got on the board in the bottom of the fifth. Freshman
Greg Caban started the inning with a double down the right field line. With two outs,
Dylan Rogers tripled to deep right, making it an 8-1 game.
Miami (27-20) added one run in the seventh and two in the eighth to win by run-rule.
Caban finished 1-for-4 with a run scored. Rogers went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
Krupinski had a 3-for-4 game with two runs and two RBIs for the Redhawks.
The Colonels (10-39) will close out the 2025 regular season with six straight road games beginning Friday at North Alabama. The series opener is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
