RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's and women's cross-country teams opened the 2025 season on Friday morning, hosting the EKU Invitational against Morehead State and Northern Kentucky.
In the women's 4K, sophomore
Khadija Ennasri led the way for EKU, winning in a time of 14:43 followed closely by her four fellow Colonels, who all finished ahead of the field.
Freshman
Morgan Kobylinski finished in second with a time of 14:54, followed by
Clara Barbosa with a time of 15:05,
Bryce Alan Thornsbury at 15:08, and
Isabelle Shearer at 15:45.
For the men,
James Ndayishimiye took the win in a time of 18:09 as EKU swept the top six places with second going to
Cesc Boix in a time of 18:13,
Tomas Vega at 18:18,
German Vega at 18:24,
Ty Blair at 18:28, and
Griffin Staude at 18:44.
The Colonels will next hit the course on September 26 as the men compete in the Gans Creek Classic hosted by Missouri.
