The Colonels broke an early 3-3 tie in the first set by scoring five of the next six points.  A block from Caitlyn Flees handed her team an 8-4 lead.  Five straight turned a 4-point advantage into a 9-point lead, 16-7.  The Redhawks battled back and tied the set at 20-20, but EKU answered by scoring five of the next six.  A kill by AG Hynes ended the opener.

Miami won the third set by six to keep the match alive and then scored three of the first four points in the fourth.  Flees tied it at 6-6 and then combined with Amanda Mack for a block to give EKU a 7-6 lead.  The Colonels went ahead by four, 13-9, on a kill from Hynes, but the Redhawks stayed in it with a 5-1 run.  The match was tied at 13-13 and 14-14 before back-to-back kills from Hynes and Emersyn Robbins gave EKU the lead for good.
