Orr, Hooks Earn UAC Weekly Football Honors

RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University football's Devin Orr and Ryder Hooks have earned United Athletic Conference (UAC) weekly honors, the league announced Monday.

Orr was named UAC Specialist of the Week, while Hooks earned UAC Freshman of the Week recognition following the Colonels' 30-20 victory over West Georgia on Saturday night at CG Bank Field at Roy Kidd Stadium.

Orr, a junior kicker from Cincinnati, Ohio, accounted for 12 points in the victory, connecting on all three field-goal attempts and three extra points.

The Archbishop Moeller High School product converted field goals from 30, 38 and a career-long 48 yards, with all three coming in the fourth quarter to help EKU secure its first conference victory of the season.

With the Colonels holding a four-point advantage early in the fourth quarter, Orr connected from 38 yards to extend the lead to seven before adding his career-long 48-yarder with 2:11 remaining to seal the victory.

Orr has converted all six of his field-goal attempts over EKU's last two games, including three against North Alabama on Oct. 3.

Hooks, a freshman return specialist, earned his first UAC weekly honor after totaling 49 return yards in Saturday's victory over West Georgia. His performance was highlighted by a 29-yard kickoff return in the second half, helping provide the Colonels with favorable field position during their second-half efforts.

The Colonels (2-4, 1-1 UAC) return to action Saturday, Oct. 17, traveling to Tennessee Tech. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. ET, with the game streaming live on ESPN+.
