EKU Debuts At No. 55 In NCAA Volleyball RPI Rankings

RICHMOND, Ky. –
Eastern Kentucky is ranked No. 55 in the first NCAA Volleyball RPI ranking of the season.
 
There are 348 NCAA Division I volleyball programs.
 
The Colonels, winners of 10 straight matches, are 15-2 overall and 5-0 in the United Athletic Conference.
 
EKU has victories this season over two teams ranked higher – No. 28 Western Kentucky (3-1) and No. 53 James Madison (3-2), and three others ranked in the top-150 – No. 111 South Florida (3-2), No. 124 Marshall (3-0) and No. 150 Tennessee Tech (3-1).  The Colonels' two losses were to No. 51 Pepperdine (3-0) and No. 97 Georgia Southern (3-2). 
 
Eastern is ranked higher than such programs as West Virginia (No. 56), Southern California (No. 57), Florida State (No. 61), Iowa State (No. 64), Ohio State (No. 65), Iowa (No. 66), Auburn (No. 68), Duke (No. 70), Ole Miss (No. 81), North Carolina State (No. 85), Mississippi State (No. 86), LSU (No. 89) and Miami (No. 90).
 
The highest known RPI ranking in EKU program history is No. 57 in October of 2023. 
 
Eastern Kentucky will host North Alabama (No. 144) on Saturday at 11 a.m. for the annual Dig Pink match.  The Colonels will wear pink in support of the fight against breast cancer.  There will be a pink EKU cap giveaway as well.
