RICHMOND, Ky. – The Eastern Kentucky University men's tennis program extends its winning streak to four games defeating James Madison and Xavier on Saturday inside the Greg Adams Tennis Center.
 
EKU defeated James Madison by a score of 4-1 in the morning and then came back to defeat Xavier, 4-3, later in the day. With the wins, the Colonels move to 6-5 on the season.
 
Senior Nuno Pinheiro won both his matches on the day from court one with wins over JMU's Ryan Morgan 6-4, 6-3 and then Xavier's Max Pettingell in straight 6-1 sets. The Portugal native improves to 3-7 on the year from the team's top flight.
 
Fellow senior Fernando Bulnes also won both his matches on the day from court two, defeating JMU's Esteve Agusti 6-2, 6-3 and then Xavier's Samuel Frizelle 6-2, 6-0.
 
The Colonels gained over half their points on the day from Pinheiro and Bulnes in singles play. The duo also combined for two singles wins on the day, winning a set in each dual match.
 
EKU returns to action tomorrow hitting the road to face Dayton. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.
