EKU Baseball Falls At Middle Tennessee

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky University lost to Middle Tennessee State, 17-0 in seven innings, on Tuesday in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.
 
The Blue Raiders (10-7) scored six runs in the first two innings to pull away early.  Clay Badylak's 2-run double highlighted a 5-run second inning that put the home team ahead 6-0.  It was one of three doubles in the inning for MTSU.
 
Middle Tennessee added three in the fourth and eight in the fifth.
 
Julius Scearce went 2-for-2 for the Colonels (5-12).  Owen Barger was 1-for-1.  Brock Blanton pitched a scoreless sixth inning, giving up one hit and striking out one.
 
Tyler Minnick had a 3-for-4 game with three doubles, three runs and four RBIs for the Blue Raiders.
 
EKU will begin Atlantic Sun Conference play against Central Arkansas at home beginning Friday at 5 p.m. ET.
