Governors Take Both Games from Colonels on Friday

Clarksville, TN. - The Eastern Kentucky University softball team was swept by Austin Peay in Friday's doubleheader matchup

Entering the matchup with a chance to move into first place, the Colonels instead fell into third in the ASUN Gold Division after dropping both games.

Game one was a low-scoring affair, with the first run not coming until the fifth inning. EKU took the lead, but a solo home run by the Governors in the bottom of the seventh forced extra innings. In extra innings, Austin Peay secured the win with a run in the ninth inning.

In game two, the Governors jumped out early and never looked back, holding EKU scoreless in an 8-0 run-rule victory.
