CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Eastern Kentucky University fell behind by eight runs in the first three innings and lost the series finale at Austin Peay, 15-2, on Sunday.

Cole Johnson's 2-run double and Trevor Conley's RBI single gave the Governors three runs in the first inning. A 2-run single from Paris Pridgen and a 2-run home run by DJ Merriweather fueled a 5-run third inning that gave the home team an 8-0 advantage.

EKU got on the board in the top of the fifth when
Silas Shaffer hit a solo home run over the wall in left field. It was his second of the season.

APSU (24-27, 14-13 ASUN) scored once in the bottom of the fifth and added six more in the sixth to put the run-rule in effect.

Five different players had one hit each for EKU (15-37, 7-20 ASUN). Shaffer finished 1-for-2 with a walk, a run and an RBI.

Pridgen went 2-for-3 with a walk, three runs and two RBIs.
