LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University completed its 2026 season with a 9-4 victory at Bellarmine on Sunday, and in doing so completed a series sweep of the Knights.

The Colonels finished the season by winning eight of their final 11 games, including two straight Atlantic Sun Conference series. EKU took two of three at Austin Peay last weekend before sweeping Bellarmine this weekend.

The trio of
Pedro Moreno,
David Alvarez and
Khaleel Pratt scorched the Bellarmine pitching in the series. Moreno went 7-for-14 (.500) with eight runs, eight RBIs, four walks and two home runs in the series. Alvarez was 10-for-15 (.667) with five runs, nine RBIs and a homer. Pratt finished 4-for-11 (.364) with four runs, four RBIs, three walks and one home run in the 3-game set.

Jacob Price (6-3) started for EKU on Sunday and allowed two runs on seven hits in six innings. He walked one and struck out four. It was his seventh quality start of the season. Over his final three starts, all wins, the redshirt junior right-hander allowed three runs in 20 innings, walked only three and struck out 18.

The Colonels scored first for the third time in the series. After a leadoff bunt single from
Ricco Longo in the second inning,
Jackson Cauthron brought him home with a double to right center.

EKU (18-37, 10-20 ASUN) seized control in the top of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, Moreno drove a ball over the wall in left center for a grand slam. It was his fifth home run of the season and handed the visitors a 5-0 edge.

Moreno came to the plate with the bases loaded again in the fifth and drew a walk to force in another run. The next batter, Alvarez, was hit by a pitch with the bases still loaded to make it 7-0.

Julius Scearce pushed the margin to 9-0 with a 2-run, 2-out double to right center in the sixth.

Longo had a 4-for-5 game with three runs scored for the winners. Scearce went 2-for-5 with a run and two RBIs. Moreno had a 2-for-4 game with two walks, a run and five RBIs on Sunday.

The Knights (19-34, 11-19 ASUN) finally scratched out a pair of runs against Price in the sixth. Bryce Anderson hit a sacrifice fly and Nick Gnardellis had an RBI single. Eli Watson's 2-out, 2-run single up the middle in the seventh closed the gap to 9-4.

Watson finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs. Luke Scales had three hits in four at bats and scored once.
