RICHMOND, Ky. – Omer Hamama, who played his freshman season at Kent State, will join the EKU men's basketball team for the upcoming 2026-27 season.
 
Hamama, a 6-foot-2 guard, played in 23 games and started twice for the Golden Flashes last season.  He averaged 1.8 points and 1.3 assists per game.  He scored a season-high eight points against EKU on Nov. 18, hitting on 4-of-8 from the field in 13 minutes of action.  Hamama dished out 10 assists against Cornell.
 
"We're excited to welcome Omer to our EKU family," said EKU Head Coach A.W. Hamilton.  "He brings experience, both in college and overseas, to our program."
 
The native of Reshon LeZion, Israel played professionally in Israel with Hapoel Afula in the Winners League and Migdal HaEmek of the National League before going to Kent State.  He played in 14 games for Hapoel during the 2024-25 season.
