ARLINGTON, Texas – EKU senior setter Emilee Hill was chosen as the United Athletic Conference Player of the Week on Monday.
 
Hill, the UAC Preseason Player of the Year and UAC Preseason Setter of the Year, led the Colonels to wins over South Florida and Utah State to open the 2026 season.  Both of those teams qualified for the 2025 NCAA Tournament and were a combined 41-21 last year.
 
Hill recorded a triple-double in a 3-1 victory over Utah State on Saturday at the Bluegrass Battle hosted by the University of Kentucky in Lexington.  It was the 16th triple-double of her career.  She finished with 15 kills, 27 assists and 11 digs.  Hill made only two errors in 27 attempts for a .481 attack percentage.  She also had three blocks.
 
In the first match of the season, a 3-2 win on Friday against South Florida, Hill missed a triple-double by just two kills, finishing with eight kills, 32 assists, 12 digs and two blocks.
 
The Yorktown, Indiana native averaged 2.54 kills, 6.56 assists, 2.56 digs and 0.56 blocks per set in both matches combined.  She totaled 23 kills and had a .333 attack percentage in 51 attempts.
 
Eastern Kentucky will return to action on Friday at the GATA Challenge hosted by Georgia Southern in Statesboro.  The Colonels will play Radford at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, face Prairie View A&M at 11 a.m. on Saturday and wrap up the event against host Georgia Southern at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
