RICHMOND, Ky. – Eastern Kentucky University sophomore linebacker Cam Jessee has been named the United Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday morning.
 

Jessee helped lead the Colonels to a 22-17 victory over Chattanooga on Saturday night at CG Bank Field at Roy Kidd Stadium, finishing tied for the team lead with eight tackles. He added a team-high two tackles for loss, half a sack and two pass breakups.
 

The EKU defense held Chattanooga to 254 yards of total offense, including just 135 through the air, and kept the Mocs scoreless in the first and fourth quarters. Chattanooga converted just 3-of-13 attempts on third down as the Colonels earned their first victory of the 2026 season.
 

Jessee has recorded 23 tackles through the first three games of the season after totaling seven tackles in the season opener at Western Carolina and eight more against Jacksonville State.
