EKU Hosts RedHawks Before Sunday’s Senior Day

RICHMOND, Ky. - EKU soccer returns home this week to host Miami (Ohio) on Thursday before welcoming USC Upstate on Sunday for Senior Day.
 
Thursday's match is set for 4 p.m., while Sunday's match will begin at 1 p.m. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+, with live stats available.
 
EKU is set to honor three of its student-athletes on Sunday for their contributions, including Chiara Premoli, Juliet Strange, and Rachel Robinson.
 
Admission to both matches is free. Fans are encouraged to arrive early Sunday for the pregame Senior Day festivities.
 
EKU (3-2) is coming off a 2-1 loss at Chattanooga last Sunday. The Mocs scored twice in the first half, including a goal in the opening 90 seconds. Ronnie Ariel scored the Colonels' lone goal, finding the equalizer off an assist from Peyton Smith in the 20th minute. EKU shut down Chattanooga's offense in the second half but was unable to find the tying goal.
 
Miami (Ohio) enters the matchup with a 2-3 record after earning a 2-0 victory over Youngstown State on Sunday. The RedHawks have scored six goals this season, averaging 1.20 per match. Miami has averaged 13.4 shots per match while limiting opponents to 9.4, but has allowed eight goals this season. Senior forward Kayla Perfect leads the team with five points on two goals and an assist. She also leads the RedHawks with nine shots.
 
The RedHawks lead the all-time series, 4-1, and have won the last three meetings. Both programs have faced Youngstown State and Morehead State this season, with the Colonels winning by a combined score of 6-0 and Miami by 4-1.
 
USC Upstate enters the week with a 2-1-1 record after earning a 4-0 victory over Hampton on Sunday. The Spartans have scored eight goals this season, averaging 2.0 per match. Senior forward Liana Bryant has scored four goals on 11 shots this season for the Spartans. Defensively, they have allowed four goals, with goalkeeper Hannah Wilt recording 19 saves.
 
The programs have met only once, with EKU earning a 2-1 victory in 2025. The match remained scoreless through the first half until Ana Manning opened the scoring in the 64th minute off an assist from Premoli. Five minutes later, Avery May finished a through ball for the game-winning goal and her first goal as a Colonel.
