Valdenebro should be a regular in the starting line-up for the Colonels this year … hits a surprisingly flat ball for a Spanish player … can finish points from the forehand side … spent the majority of his freshman season at No. 2 and No. 3 singles … helped EKU pull out a 4-3 victory over Wright State last year thanks to a three-set triumph at No. 4 singles … won all three of his three-set matches in 2009 … split time with Mel Segota and Emilio Piriz in doubles as a freshman … reached as high as No. 380 in the Spanish men’s national rankings … also played soccer in high school … he hopes to eventually earn a master’s degree and become an engineer.
