Biography

2008 (JUNIOR): Started 53 of the Colonels’ 54 games…Batted .302 on the season…Led the team with 49 runs scored…Drove in 30 runs…Recorded 11 multi-RBI games, second most on the team…Tied for the team lead with 14 doubles…Second on the team and fourth in the OVC with five triples…Ranked in the top 10 in the conference with 14 stolen bases…Belted three home runs…Went 2-for-3 with two RBI and three runs scored in a March 2 win over Bradley…Played his best ball in the last month of the season, batting around .400 during the final 20 games of the season…Smacked a two-run homer in a 16-6 win over Thomas More College on April 16…Batted 3-for-6 with three RBI and a run scored in that game…Batted 2-for-2 with a solo home run, a triple, two RBI and two runs scored in the third game of a weekend series with Murray State…Went 3-for-5 with three runs scored against Berea on April 22…Had two hits and two RBI in a 9-7 win over Miami (Ohio) University on April 29…Batted 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored in a 10-0 shutout of Samford.

2007 (SOPHOMORE): Hit .317 with 31 runs scored…Was the Colonels’ leading run producer with 47 RBI…Led the team with 90 total bases…First on the team with 13 doubles…Second on the team with 60 hits…Also second on the team with a .377 on-base percentage…Four hits, two home runs and two RBI against Long Island on February 23…Went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs scored against Kentucky State on February 28…Batted 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored at Miami (Ohio) on March 28…Drilled a grand slam in a late season conference matchup against Eastern Illinois.

2006 (FRESHMAN): Started 52 games at third base...Hit .298 with 34 runs scored and 30 RBI...Second on the team with 14 doubles...Fifth on the team with 53 hits...Registered first career hit and RBI in season opener against Toledo on February 24...Went 2-for-5 with three RBI in 8-5 victory over Northern Iowa on March 17...Went 2-for-2 with a career-best four runs scored in victory over UT Martin on April 9...Season-high four hits and three RBI in OVC tournament victory over SEMO on May 26.

HIGH SCHOOL: Hit .512 with 11 home runs and 51 RBIs his senior year…Earned all-state, all-area and all-conference honors as a senior…A two-way starter at wide receiver and cornerback on the varsity football team…Voted ‘Top 100’ player in Illinois by Chicago Tribune…Led team to the MSL division title as a junior by hitting .458 with 12 doubles, three triples and eight home runs as a shortstop…Named first team all-conference while earning a spot on the All-Northern Illinois team as selected by the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association…Earned Eagle scout rank in 2002…Lettered three years in both baseball and football.
