2008 (JUNIOR): Allowed only three runs through his first nine outings…Finished the season with a perfect 2-0 record…Allowed just four walks in 17 innings of work…Did not throw a wild pitch or give up a home run the entire season…Recorded wins against Maryland Baltimore County and Western Kentucky…Best performance of the season came against UMBC on March 15 when he pitched three innings of perfect baseball while striking out two batters to earn the victory…Against Western Kentucky on April 9 he retired the side in order in the fifth inning to pick up his second win of the season…Delivered another strong performance against Murray State on April 19 when he turned in two innings of work and only allowed one run on two hits while striking out three batters.

2007 (SOPHOMORE): Finished the season with a 4.33 ERA…Made 19 appearances…pitched 35.1 innings…posted a record of 1-1…Recorded one save…Held opponents to a .227 batting average…In his first appearance of the season against Oakland University on February 24, Owens recorded four strikeouts in three innings of one hit, shutout baseball…Against Miami (Ohio) University on April 3, Owens contributed with 2.1 innings of one hit, no earned runs baseball…Pitched three innings in a 14-3 thrashing of Marshall without giving up a run April 17.

2006 (FRESHMAN): Went 2-1 with a 4.50 ERA...Second on team with 28 appearances, all in relief...Pitched 1.1 scoreless innings in first career appearance against Toledo on February 24...Allowed a run in 3.1 innings, striking out a season-high six batters to pick up first career victory against Bellarmine on March 8...Picked up victory against Indiana, allowing a run in 2.0 innings...Earned first career save in victory over Murray State on April 15.

HIGH SCHOOL: Went 6-2 with a 1.55 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 58.2 innings his senior year of high school...Allowed only .323 walks per inning.

PERSONAL: Born April 9, 1987...Son of Reuben and Rebecca Owens...Majoring in elementary education...One interesting fact about David: He loves to hunt, shoot guns, and do just about anything that involves being outdoors...The baseball player David emulates his game after: Greg Maddux.
